Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Over fifteen years of experience in translation, revision, and proofreading.
Our goal: provide a simple, coherent, and efficient translation and revision process to elevate the quality of your writing.
Services and project process
Do you offer translation and revision services for all project and document types?
Yes. We provide translation, revision, and proofreading services across marketing, finance, legal, technical, and corporate domains. We can also work directly inside your tools and internal systems.
Do you offer adaptation, transcreation, and inclusive writing services?
Yes. We offer content adaptation (for example, for the Quebec or Canadian market), transcreation for slogans, ad copy, and pitches, as well as support for inclusive writing. These services are billed at an hourly rate.
Do you handle urgent requests?
Yes, we offer Urgent and Ultra Urgent options after analyzing the project. A rush surcharge applies to either the per-word or hourly rate. Urgent requests are accepted only when timelines are realistic.
Do you work in languages beyond French, English, and Spanish?
To maintain premium quality, we chose to specialize in a limited number of language pairs. We currently offer translation and revision services only in French, English, and Spanish.
What kinds of projects do you handle?
We handle all text types: press releases, emails, training material, presentations, packaging, websites, brochures, reports, financial statements, ads, magazines, books, HR communications, and more.
What are your typical turnaround times?
Turnaround depends on task type and volume. For a translation over 1,000 words, you should generally allow about 48 hours. Every request is reviewed individually and assigned a precise deadline.
What does your after-service support include?
We support you from intake through post-delivery follow-up, and we remain available for questions. Any additions or edits to the source file after delivery require a new request and may incur additional fees.
Do you offer copywriting services?
No. Our mission is to translate or improve already-written content so it accurately reflects what you want to communicate.
Do you offer retainer/hour-bank options?
We do not offer pre-set hour banks. Instead, we offer monthly billing. One-off micro-requests (a few words or sentences) are billed with a 30-minute minimum.
Do you accept requests from individuals (without a company or agency)?
Yes, certain one-off requests from individuals are accepted case by case. We reserve the right to decline some projects. When accepted, a 30% to 50% deposit is required before work starts.
What is your end-to-end workflow after receiving a translation request?
We first analyze the document and calculate volume to set cost and deadline. Then: 1) translation by a first language specialist, 2) full revision by a second specialist, and 3) final quality assurance by a third person, including presentation checks and compliance with quality standards. The final file is then delivered with relevant comments when needed.
How large is your team?
Our core team includes four to five full-time employees, supported by a network of specialized collaborators. Most have more than 12 years of translation and revision experience.
Pricing and billing
How can I know the full cost upfront? Do you provide formal quotes?
Because every project is unique, we analyze each request and provide a detailed estimate. We can also prepare an official quote for signature.
Is translation billed per word or per hour?
Both options are available depending on your needs. Per-word pricing gives a clear total cost upfront. When a mandate includes project handling or related services, hourly pricing is often preferred.
Are revision and proofreading billed per word or per hour?
Revision, proofreading, editorial review, and adaptation services are billed at a fixed hourly rate.
What are your hourly rates and per-word rates?
Our rates are tailored to your needs after reviewing your documents. We then establish a detailed pricing grid that is fixed and guaranteed for one full year, with possible annual adjustments based on CPI.
What are your billing terms?
We offer per-project billing (one invoice per mandate) or monthly consolidated billing (end of month). Payment is due within 30 days of invoice issuance.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept electronic funds transfers, bank wire transfers, Interac e-Transfers, and checks in Canadian dollars issued in Canada.
Are there management fees in addition to hourly or per-word costs?
For projects under 10,000 words, management fees are included. Additional fees may apply for large projects or mandates spanning more than one month. Certain technical tasks (layout work, manual content extraction from PPT/PDF, image/subtitle transcription) may also be billed separately.
Layout and design
Will my translated file keep the same layout as the source?
Yes. For Word, PowerPoint, and Excel formats, we can faithfully preserve the original layout. For PDFs, minor differences may occur depending on source file preparation.
Can you recreate a logo or image exactly after translation?
We do our best to preserve visual presentation, but we are not a graphic design agency. We can translate text in visual assets, then recommend final polishing by a designer for optimal results.
Artificial intelligence (AI)
Do you use AI in project delivery?
AI may assist internal administration, but no translation or revision is entrusted solely to AI. Every mandate is completed by human language professionals following rigorous QA processes.
Can I send you AI-translated text for professional revision?
Yes, this service is available. For large files, revision cost can sometimes exceed the cost of translation done from scratch. Machine-translated text often creates terminology consistency issues that require extensive correction.
Delivery and data security
What submission methods do you offer for project requests?
Three options are available: 1) online form, 2) secure client portals (FR/EN) after initial contact, and 3) email. We can also adapt to your own platforms (for example: Monday, Trello, Jira).
Are your portals and project-management systems secure?
Yes. Our portals and systems are hosted on secure servers located in Quebec. Submitted data is retained for up to 7 days before destruction, and delivered projects for up to 21 days (or up to 365 days under a specific agreement). We guarantee confidentiality from intake to delivery.
Is your site ready for your users?
Tell us about your project and we will provide an estimate adapted to your platform’s size and complexity.
